Transition was founded in October 2002 in a former garage near Victoria Park, Hackney. Since April 2006 the gallery has been located at Unit 25a Regent Studios, 8 Andrews Road, London E8 4QN

The gallery is run by artist Cathy Lomax and shows work by both emerging and established contemporary artists.
