Supernature Project

The Pansy Project               Time Out, Gay & Lesbian Critics' Choice
Paul Harfleet

Paul gave out pansies and chatted to gallery visitors about the project on Saturday 11th November. He also planted pansies at key sites where homophobic attacks had occured. The pansy below was planted by the Hungerford Bridge on the Southbank in memory of David Morley who was beaten to death by youths. According to police reports the attack was not motivated by homophobia, however David Morley survived the Admiral Duncan bombing and his death had a profound effect on the gay community so it seemed appropriate to plant a pansy at the location. Paul also attempted to plant a pansy outside The Admiral Duncan but was told that for security reasons he couldn't. Read more about this on his blog
