Describe the things and images that you have around you in your studio and how they influence or inform your work.
I have a collection of dog Christmas tree baubles, dog magazines and pet care books generally hanging around my studio, which inspire me to work in a carefree manner. Also Nietzsche's 'Gay Science'.
Describe your working methods and processes
Coffee, music, phonecalls from the sun - lounger, and then I venture forth to the painting side of things.
Which single item in your studio is most important to your work?
Which artist/s most influence your work and which recent show has been inspirational?
A recent show at the Vienna Kunsthistorisches Museum, Pieter Bruegel, Lucas Cranach.
Is your studio a refuge or a place of torture - elaborate if you want.
Being in the studio is analogous to being pulled off the nipple, hence endless supping of tea and insecure phone calls to my mother, when working this feeling subsides and I'm reborn into a kind of religious monomania.
