Sophie MacCorquodale MacCorquodale's film Waiting for the Day is the result of a number of visits to the Welsh resort of Rhyl. The work captures the nostalgia and romanticism of a once thriving holiday destination contrasting that with the reality of actual experience when faded grandeur meets day-to-day deprivation. Sophie MacCorquodale studied at Goldsmiths College and Manchester Metropolitan University. She won the Crosby Homes Art Prize, Manchester Art Gallery in 2005 and was a runner up for the 2004 BT New Media Award, Manchester Art Gallery. In 2007 she had a screening of ' Responding to Aernout Mik' at The Camden Arts Centre, London.
