Rebecca Gould

Rebecca Gould, The Wave, 2007
Gould's un-seaworthy boat leans halved against a wall with a painted wave breaking over it. The boat houses a monitor showing a film from Gould's ongoing Helen of Troy series (who incidentally bears a striking resemblance to Dolly Parton), in which Helen is kidnapped by Paris and protests in a silent movie style.
Rebecca Gould studied at Central Saint Martin's, UWIC, Cardiff and Coleg Menai. Gould recently had a solo exhibition, 'Beauty and The Beast' at The Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead. Other exhibitions include 'The Suitcase Project', Beaver Projects, Copenhagen, 'Magical Thinking', Mother Studios, London and 'Feel Good Feel Bad Boys and Girls', Lange Gasse 28, Ausberg, Germany.
